We are pleased to announce Trickhouse vol. 9

You may have noticed that we have added two more doors to Trickhouse. The first door is this door, which will give a brief run-down of each issue and will come in handy starting next issue when there will be a different curator for each door. And this will be the case from now on: each door will have its own curator for a three-issue run, then the entire fourth issue will be handed over to one visiting über-curator, then a new group of curators will take over the eight doors, and so on. The exception is the mischievous last door (see next paragraph) which I will curate on a rolling basis irrespective of medium, genre, or issue dates. Work that is submitted to Trickhouse will be published in this room, whereas the other doors are by invitation only.

The last door is what used to be called the Back Room and did not have its own door. Now it not only has its own door, but it has also slipped out of its name entirely and will be recreating itself regularly and unexpectedly, as we all must do. The name of this door (currently the Parlour) will change whenever new work is posted, but its purpose stays the same: to serve as an informal venue for works of any medium or genre, especially collaborations, works in progress, works that are on the margins of what the contributors are "known for," or works by people who are not "known for" anything in particular. It is a portal, a shifting art portal that archives itself.

Two new posts are currently in the Parlour: a film by Catalan artist Oriol Sabat (mostly a painter and sculptor), and a visual transcription of Paul Auster by Canadian writer Derek Beaulieu. Click here for the Parlour.

The Parlour is open to submissions on a rolling basis. If a new issue is pending, there may be a bit of delay in responding so thanks in advance for your patience. For submission guidelines, please click here.

Thanks and come again!

Love,
Noah Saterstrom, Trickhouse Curator
