These drawings are magnifications of human embryonic stages representing stages from the first trimester of pregnancy, staring with an in-vitro fertilization procedure. They are from the larger project According To Their Kind, which investigates issues of natural selection and selective breeding. Making connections between the biblical story of Noah’s Ark and contemporary practices, the objective of the project is to illuminate the contradictions inherent in genetic selection.
